- What's new ?
-
- *version 1.2*
- ***This was supposed to be RIA 1.14 but due to the amount of changes and the new look, I've
- been suggested to call it RIA 1.2. So do I :-) ***
- -More obvious : new design (thanks Richard for your ideas ;) ).
- -6 languages supported : English, FranĪais, Nederlands, Deutsch, Italiano, Magyar.
- Many thanks to all translators !
- -In the MAIN tab : 'lock CD number' checkbox added => the number of CD is evaluated from
- the video bitrate, but in some cases, this evaluation isn't right. So, enter the correct nb
- of CD in the 'Current settings' field and check the box. This is important if you share
- profiles !
- -In the PATHS tab : new fields => substream2 + substream2 (compressed)
- - + new icons leftside of each file :
- => green circle = OK file does not exist yet / for VOB = first VOB found
- => red triangle = warning, file already exists and will be overwritten / for VOB = VOB not
- found
- - + refresh button : shows tips about the above situations + update HD space left
- -In the PROFILES tab : you can now export the current profile or ALL profiles from your
- PROFILES directory
- - + new field : COMMENT => usefull when sharing profiles => you can add a comment about your
- profile, i.e. the soundtrack(s) language(s), needs to be cut off after 700Mb (if a little
- bit too long), .....
- -Log changed => log file reports now the available HD space before and after each task has
- been accomplished => some users don't really anticipate rips need "a lot" of HD space =>
- if you find some 0 kb files, check the LOG !
- - + more informations in the log : movie name/pfl summary/divx auto parameters => I've been
- asked to add this => done ;)
- -In the EXTRAS tab : new option : Multi-RIP => create a list by double-clicking (or click on
- the '+' bellow the list) on the profiles you want to use => this adds them to the multi-rip
- list found in the EXTRAS tab. There you can re-arrange the list order (move/delete).
- Check the USE THIS LIST option and it will be used when you launch the rip (with the
- 'Launch Rip !' button in the Multi-Rip part - the one located in the Main tab won't work !).
- Of course, all necessary VOB files must already be decrypted and copied in different directories.
- The 'delete wav file' and 'log' options are automatically checked. The 'shutdown' option is
- checked for the last profile only.
- This new option is for RIA 'trained' users having huge HD and leaving their home for a long
- time ... know what I mean Henk ;)
- I've been asked to add this option but could not test it extensively in 'real' situations
- (lack of HD space) so please mail me you successes or fails ...
-
- ***Important note***
- I've been told there are some problems playing AVI files having X (width) resolution not
- multiple of 32 with Matrox G400 and (?) GeForce gfx cards (overlay problem). As I always
- recommand using resolutions of 640x... or 512x... this should not happen.
- So I first introduced a FIX32 button in the video tab but finally removed it in this release
- as most other resolutions than the ones previously mentionned did not keep the original (DVD)
- aspect ratio.
- For people who still want to try other width and height values, just have a look at :
- You'll find there a DirectX Media filter that solves this overlay problem.
- One last thing, if you experience slow playing or jerky movies, remember that most (low-level)
- CPU don't allow the usage of a high CPU quality value in the DivX options .... so beware
- (on my PIII 550 I must keep a CPU quality value <= 1 !).
-
- *version 1.13*
- -Auto detection of new language files...just add the file to the LANG directory, relaunch RIA and
- it should be detected ... PLEASE send us your translations !!!
- -bug fix in 'split'+'2nd audio' processing
- -autosynch option : RIA analyses the audio and video streams and tries to synchronizer them
- WARNING : this should only work with files synchronized in the beginning and getting out of synch
- after a few minutes !
- -New : Audio range option : just like for the video => you can then rip a part of a movie only BUT
- the audio has to be ripped completely; the range is applied to the compressed audio !
- -Latest Synchronizer b0.05 included.
- -Video Preview can start after the beginning of the movie. It doesn't matter what ... x 5000 LBA
- means, just remember higher values = further in the movie.
-
- *version 1.12*
- -Many friends ask for multilanguage ... here it is, only English and French for the moment
- -New option : add TurnCD logo : this adds a turning CD animation at the end of the first part
- of your AVI - in case you split it of course. A little gadget but I could not deny Henk's request ;)
- The TurnCD AVI files are not in the archive because it is an extra 2Mb download and not everyone
- is interested. All supported AVI are available in the Download section (copy them to the 'TurnCD' directory).
- -Adding TurnCD logo can also be done to an existing AVI (see Extras section)
-
- *version 1.11*
- -'Extras' sheet added :
- * you can extract audio from an AVI
- * direct Synchronizer launch (included in RIA now)
- -bug fix in profile creation
-
- *version 1.1*
- -After many months of work, here comes RIA 1.1. I've started it back from scratch
- and made my own modules, except for video rip (I still use Mpeg2Avi - from PX3)
- -RipItAll isn't a part of DaRippak anymore
- -There are so many changes I can't write them all here ... find'em out ;)
-
- -----------------------OLD VERSIONS-----------------------------------
- *version 1.03*
- -bug fixes
-
- *version 1.03*
- -A silly bug in the profile handling => fixed
-
- *version 1.02*
- -Another bug fix : RIA didn't uncheck crop/downsize boxes when changing from
- a profile that has cropping and/or downsizing to another one that has not (thanks Henk,
- this guy is great as beta-tester ;) ).
- -French translation of the Doc file.
- Note : if you're using RIA please mail me to tell me you're a user.
- This way I'll know if RIA deserves to be updated or not. Thanks ;)
-
- *version 1.01*
- -Silly bug fixed : RIA didn't find the second audio wav when trying to
- merge without ripping sound in the same session
- -Profile handling improvement : you can now select the profile you want
- to use in a list under 'Profile Name :'. RIA seeks every profile at runtime
- and updates the list when you save a new profile.
- Warning : RIA won't detect you delete a profile once it's running, so delete
- unwanted profiles after or before using RIA.
-
- NOTE : some people are mixing thinks up about profiles, a profile name is not
- a profile *file* name => i.e. the movie The Mummy : you create a profile
- named Mummy-Z2-1CD-44Khz-96 and save it as mummy.pfl.
- The first is the profile name and the second, the profile file name.
- Of course, you can save a profile (profile file name) with the same name as the
- profile name (RIA proposes this as default), but you don't get to.
- Another example : I told you RIA will seek a file ..\profiles\default.pfl
- this is the file name although you could find in this file the line
- ProfileTitle=My prefered defaults. So, you'll see in the list 'My prefered defaults'
- as Profile Name but the file used is default.pfl
-
- ---end for today :) ---
